October 1st starts Domestic Violence Awareness Month. This will be a very active month, as we seek to continue educating the public and allowing survivors to share their stories. Attending events, speaking with policymakers and community leaders, and most importantly listening to and recognizing survivors will be a top priority in our mission to end Domestic Violence and Domestic Homicide. All people deserve to live life in safety and free from fear!
As always, thehotline.org is an excellent resource if you or someone you love is experience domestic violence or abuse in any form. The National Coalition Against Domestic Violence is a great place to find more resources and to find out how you can get involved personally.
